We receive our raw material, unprocessed timber, wet or dry. The wet unprocessed wood is dried before processing, as the moisture levels are of great significance to on the quality of the end product.
Lathing or sticking
Before the packs of unprocessed wood are dried, they are lathed or put in stick by placing battens between each layer of timber to permit air flow for drying.
Moisture level measurements
Lamico has two drying chambers for kilning timber. During the drying process the moisture levels are measured at eight locations in the drying chamber to carefully monitor the progress of the drying process.
